Post 6- A person expert in your field that you admire

Rosalind Franklin was a British chemist and crystallographer. She had a great contribution in science with her experiments based on X-rays, such as carbon and its various structures such as graphite and diamond.

This was the greatest discovery and great contribution to science was the so-called Photograph 51, which was the first time that DNA was dissolved. This photograph gave way to great advances in science in the field of genetics

When I was in school, my Biology teacher told me about this important woman in the world of science and how it was that her fame was stolen from her great discovery.

Watson and Crick were two scientists who dedicated their lives to studies on the DNA molecule, they worked together at the University of Cambridge. Both had the postulate and theory that DNA was composed of an antiparallel double helix, but they had no way to prove it.

My professor told us that Watson and Crick had sneaked into Rosalind's lab and stole the photo, thus being able to complete their investigation and gain all the recognition of the scientific world.

Rosalind Franklin after death had the recognition of having been the first person to photograph DNA, winning the Louisa Gross Horwitz Prize, which was given to scientists who contributed to great discoveries in the field of biochemistry or biology

  1. Without a doubt, they have been scientists who have made great contributions to society. We must follow their examples.

  2. It is sad that he was not recognized in life :(
Being that his work was one of the most important for modern biology.
